EJE TO DEL ROSARIO, MARCH 10, 1900

Exhibit 1407.

[Original in Spanish. L.S. P.I.R., 1218.3.]

Letter head: 3rd Guerrilla fraction. No.6. [Cebu]

I have received your order dated February 28th last, and take pleasure in informing you, in accordance with the communication of the P. M. Governor of this province, that yesterday about 5 p.m. we entered the barrio of Talamban, and when our enemies or bandits saw that our troops were in guerrilla formation, they fled, and at the same time I ordered three volleys to be fired; then I directed that the houses should be searched. Not finding anything, as the people had taken their furniture and cattle with them in the field, I ordered the houses burned, which were reduced to ashes to-day. Through the brother of Sr. Cabajar, I received the sixty cartridges for the two Mauser rifles.

God preserve you many years for the sake of our holy cause.

TAMBOGAZA, March 10, 1900.

(Signed) L. EJE,
Commanding 3rd Fraction.

To Sr. P. E. DEL ROSARIO, Commanding the Northern Column.
