BALANGIGA LOCAL PRESIDENTE P. ABAYAN TO LUKBAN, MAY 30, 1901

Exhibit 1350

[Original in Spanish. A. L. S. P I R • 1074 1 ]

MAY 30, 1901.

As a representative of this town I have the honor to inform you that, after having conferred with the principales of this town about the policy to be pursued with the enemy in case they appear here, we have agreed to observe a deceptive policy with them doing whatever they may like, and when a favorable opportunity arises, the people will strategically rise up against them.

I communicate this to you for your superior information, begging of you to make known to the entire army of this province your approval of the same, if you think it advisable.

God preserve you many years.

BALANGIGA, May 30, 1901.

(Signed) P. ABAYAN,
Local Presidente.

To the GENERAL IN CHIEF OF THIS PROVINCE OF SAMAR.

[NOTE BY COMPILER.]-This attack was executed and the greater part of Company C. Ninth Infantry, were killed on September 29, 1901.
