CATBALOGAN COMMANDER TO LUKBAN, JANUARY 20, 1901

Exhibit 1341.

[Original in Spanish. D. S. P. I. R., 891.12 ]

JANUARY 20, 1901.

To the General and Politico-Military Commander of this Province.

I have the honor to inform you that this morning about eight o'clock, the local chief of Kaloiga, Sr. Feliciano Figueroa, arrived here and showed me the attached statement of what will be done in that town, which is occupied by the enemy, and at the same time he told me that the people en masse would rise up against the detachment recently posted in the said town by the enemy; the force consists of about 200 men and officers, for which reason I inquire of you whether I am to raise some guerrillas to go to that point. I am only awaiting superior orders to go there with such number of guerrillas as you may consider necessary.

I have the honor to communicate the foregoing to you, for your superior decision.

God preserve you many years.
